Daiwa a possible for Dubai World Cup
Connections of star Japanese filly Daiwa Scarlet are considering a tilt at the Dubai World Cup.
The four-year-old is a three-time Grade One winner in her native country, winning their equivalent of the 1000 Guineas, and trainer Kunihide Matsuda had been looking towards the nine-furlong Dubai Duty Free.
However, connections could now enter the filly in the 10-furlong World Cup, lining up a potential clash with the likes of Ramonti and top South African runner Asiatic Boy.
Matsuda said: “We have not decided which race to enter her for – the Dubai Duty Free or Dubai World Cup.
“I think Dubai suits horses who race in front, and I am really looking forward to March.”
Daiwa Scarlet was last seen finishing second to Matsurida Gogh in last month’s Arima Kinen at Nakayama.
