Although the overnight temperature is not expected to dip below freezing, clerk of the course Neil MacKenzie Ross is taking no chances.

He said: “There was a slight frost overnight but the majority of the track will be raceable today.

“But we are only due to get to plus-three degrees today and there is no sun around. We are expecting plus-two degrees tonight and then up to plus-seven tomorrow. If that was the case, we would be very hopeful.”
