Rain-sodden Wetherby to inspect

Tomorrow’s meeting at Wetherby is in serious jeopardy due to waterlogging.

Clerk of the course James Sanderson has called a 2.30pm inspection but the situation looks bleak.

The Yorkshire track is currently heavy, soft in places – but also waterlogged in areas.

Sanderson said: “It’s unraceable at present and unless there’s a significant improvement, I can’t see the meeting being on.

“It’s not raining as heavily as it has been this morning but the damage has been done.”
