Europe camp look to the future
Henry De Bromhead will not be too disappointed if Sizing Europe does not win the bewleyshotels.com December Festival Hurdle at Leopardstown on Saturday.
The five-year-old beat subsequent Boylesports.com International winner Osana in the Greatwood Hurdle but De Bromhead has his eyes on a return to Prestbury Park in March.
“He seems in great form and we are very happy with him,” said the County Waterford trainer, whose charge is as low as 8-1 for the Champion Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival.
“The form is working out very well but we were receiving 6lb (from Osana).
“It will not be the end of the world if he is beaten as we will probably still have a look at the AIG Champion Hurdle (at Leopardstown) after that.
“We will just dip our toe in the water and see how we go.
“March is the month that is much more in my head but if he could win next week that would be fantastic,” he told At The Races.
