Murphy sure of Leading Man repeat victory
Ferdy Murphy is convinced Leading Man has bright prospects of a repeat victory in the skybet.com Rowland Meyrick Handicap Chase at Wetherby on St Stephen's Day.
The seven-year-old gelding beat Sir Rembrandt by eight lengths last year and will bid to bounce back after being pulled up in the Rehearsal Chase at Newcastle three weeks ago.
āHe had a dirty scope after running poorly in the Rehearsal Chase, but heās had medication and looks good now,ā said the West Witton trainer.
āThe vet passed him on Monday, heās been doing some work and he looks spot on. He seems to like Wetherby, and the way last yearās race was run also suited him.
āHe stays well, and I couldnāt be happier with him. The ground wonāt be an issue and Iām as confident as I was coming into the race last year.ā
