Leicester inspect again

This afternoon’s meeting at Leicester is subject to a second inspection at 9.30am.

Track officials failed a 6.45am precautionary inspection because of another sharp overnight frost.

Clerk of the course Jimmy Stevenson said: “We got to minus-six degrees overnight and it’s very cold.

“But we are going to give it a shot because it was a similar scenario on Tuesday, when the frost eventually came out of the ground in the afternoon.

“It depends on how we progress, but it’s very likely we’ll check again after the 9.30am inspection.”
