Carr prepared for International battle

John Carr admits it would not be the “end of the world” if Sublimity were to be beaten in the Boylesports.com International at Cheltenham on Saturday.

The champion hurdler has not been seen since causing a shock in the blue riband event in March.

But with that race the very much the main aim again, Carr warns his stable star will not be fully tuned up this weekend.

“I spoke to the clerk of the course and he said they missed a lot of the heavy rain that fell last week and they might have some rain before the weekend, but it sounds like it is going to be perfect ground for him,” said Carr.

“Even though Katchit got beat the last day it doesn’t mean he can’t win again and Macs Joy is going over so they will all be there to be taken on again – it is going to be a very good race on Saturday.

“It would be nice to win and it would be a great relief if he won and then we would be able to let him down and bring him back up again for the AIG Champion Hurdle (January 27).

“If he gets beat it would be disappointing, but it would not be the end of the world,” he told At The Races.
