Tikram reunited with Moore
Old favourite Tikram has returned to a chasing career with Gary Moore after a change of heart from part-owner Rodger Sargent.
The 10-year-old took the 2004 Mildmay of Flete Challenge Cup at the Cheltenham Festival for Moore among a string of fine efforts and also recovered from an operation to remove a tumour in his head.
After losing his way somewhat, a decision was made to give him a change of scenery with Alan King, for whom he was placed a few times last season.
Tikram is back in Sussex, England, with Moore and has a number of entries this week, with the favoured option being Friday’s Boylesports.com Cashback Chase at Cheltenham.
“He’s been back with us for a while now,” explained Moore.
“Originally Rodger was planning to ride him in point-to-points, but he tried him out a month or so ago and decided against it.
“I should really have got the horse qualified for hunter chases as I don’t think he’s very well handicapped.
“However, he’s in very good form – as good as he’s been for a long time.”
