Ascot to stage morning inspection
Saturday’s top-class card at Ascot is subject to the Berkshire course passing a precautionary inspection at 8am tomorrow.
The Coral Ascot Hurdle and the Amlin 1965 Handicap Chase have attracted some classy declarations but officials will check the situation due to the threat of frost.
The going is currently described as good to soft, soft in places on the round course – with good patches in the home straight – but overnight temperatures are expected to dip to minus-four degrees.
