O'Neill ace a Paddy Power doubt
Jonjo O’Neill’s Don’t Push It, ante-post favourite for Saturday’s Paddy Power Gold Cup, is far from certain to make the line-up at Cheltenham.
The JP McManus-owned seven-year-old had proved increasingly popular with punters as main market rivals Granit Jack and Abragante are not guaranteed to make the cut.
But O’Neill, who was at Bangor on Wednesday, confirmed his charge had developed a problem.
Speaking then, he said: “He worked this morning and worked brilliantly.
“I was very happy, but I got a phone call here at the races and something is not right with him,” he told the Racing Post.
While describing Don’t Push It as “doubtful” for Saturday’s valuable handicap after receiving the news, O’Neill was expecting to make a final decision when knowing more about the nature of the setback on Thursday.
