Garrett Gomez bounced his mount out of the gate smartly and never saw another rival. In sloppy conditions, Gomez looked clean as a whistle compared to his rivals.

Proud Spell chased home the winner, with Backseat Rhythm in third.

Winning trainer Bob Baffert said: "That's the longest stretch run I've seen in my life! She is so talented, she got nice fractions and she was out there by herself. When they are that talented they just get it done."
