Kazal is likely to make his seasonal reappearance in about six weeks’ time after suffering a minor setback.

The six-year-old, winner of six of his seven starts over hurdles last term, could make his chasing debut in early December.

“You won’t see him for about five or six weeks. We had a little bit of a hold-up,” said trainer Eoin Griffin.

“It was a small problem, nothing to worry about. He’ll go for a beginners’ chase probably sometime around the start of December.

“He needs testing ground and a stiff track. Stamina is his forte so that’s what we’ll be going for.”

Griffin’s smart filly Lounaos may be back in action at around the same time.

“We gave her a bit of extra time off because she had a long hard season. I would say the time frame for her reappearance would be similar,” Griffin added.
