Connections of Purple Moon are hoping his run in Saturday’s Caulfield Cup will give them a good pointer to his chances in Melbourne.

Luca Cumani’s four-year-old contests the mile-and-a-half feature ahead of his planned assault on the Emirates Melbourne Cup next month, for which he is the general 7-1 favourite.
