Art bows out of competition

Dutch Art has been retired and will take up stallion duties at the Cheveley Park Stud.

The Peter Chapple-Hyam-trained colt was a dual Group One victor as a juvenile but failed to win this season despite being placed in a string of top-class races.

Owner Paul Roy told the Daily Mail: “He was unlucky not to get the right going during his three-year-old career.

“In hindsight, we should have run him in the Haydock Park Sprint (last month) where the going was softer than advertised. He’s been a great horse for me.”
