Dettori poised for house party

Frankie Dettori will team up with Full House for the first time in Saturday’s totesport.com Cesarewitch at Newmarket.

The eight-year-old has been partnered by Jimmy Fortune on each of his three Flat starts, winning at Goodwood in May before going on to glory in the Ascot Stakes at the Royal meeting.

He subsequently disappointed at Goodwood but trainer Paul Webber is expecting a better effort – as long as the ground is on the quicker side.

“He is an intended runner as long as it stays dry enough,” said Webber.

“Any rain that is going to fall is supposed to come today, so we are just hoping there’s as little as possible as he does want good ground or faster.

“He’s in very good form. He’s been in (races) a couple of times since Goodwood but the rain has come and he’s had to miss out – that’s why he hasn’t run.

“The ground was probably still a bit soft at Goodwood which went against him and he was a bit free that day too, but he’s in excellent form.

“Frankie was going to ride him at Ascot a couple of weeks ago but we had to miss out due to the ground so we asked him to ride again.

“He certainly is a good booking.”

Full House finished 25th behind Detroit City in the Cesarewitch last season and he is as low as 20-1 with Stan James to improve on that showing this term.
