Connections of Samira Gold hope she can find the required improvement to be competitive in the Princess Royal Willmott Dixon Stakes at Ascot on Saturday.

Luca Cumani’s filly has progressed rapidly this term and has won back-to-back Listed races.

Samira Gold steps into Group Three company for the first time and Bruce Raymond, racing manager to the owner, Jaber Abdullah, believes she can give a good account of herself.

“She has really progressed well this season and trainer Luca Cumani and his team have done a great job with her,” he told www.rabbah.co.uk.

“We hope that she can find the necessary improvement to be competitive at Group Three level.

“If she settles and travels as she has done in her last two races, I feel she’ll get the trip and we won’t mind at all if the ground were to continue drying out.”
