Injured Doyle on sidelines

Brett Doyle is likely to be out for a fortnight after breaking two ribs in an accident on the gallops.

The jockey sustained the injury on Friday but continued to ride on Saturday when he rode a winner at Redcar.

As his ribs were still sore after the weekend, Doyle decided to go to hospital on Monday.

“He rode with the injury on Saturday but it got very sore, so he went to the hospital to have it checked out,” confirmed his agent Laura Way.

“I’m not sure exactly how long he’ll be out for, possibly a couple of weeks.

“He’s all right, but he’s just very sore.”
