No doubting Thomas as Fallon strikes
Dylan Thomas gave Aidan O’Brien his first victory in the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe with a thrilling success at Longchamp today.
The dual Irish Champion Stakes winner hit the front inside the final furlong under Kieren Fallon but drifted across to the rail, interfering with at least three other runners.
Just as it looked as if the race was in safe-keeping, Mick Channon’s Youmzain threw down a tremendous challenge.
But Fallon managed to get one more effort from the son of Danehill to gain a deserved success. Sagara finished third, with hot favourite Authorized well beaten.
