Toylsome wins at Longchamp

German raider Toylsome won the Group One Prix de la Foret at Longchamp, with Welsh Emperor faring best of the British and Irish raiders in second.

Pasquier doubled up as he gave German raider Toylsome a well-judged ride from the front to steal the Group One Prix de la Foret.

Owned by Baron Georg Von Ullmann, whose Manduro recently suffered a career-ending injury, the eight-year-old was virtually unconsidered in the betting market but won with plenty to spare.

Having opened up around a three-length lead at the quarter-mile point, Toylsome kept up the gallop as Tom Tate’s Welsh Emperor threw down the biggest challenge back in second.

Marchand D’Or stuck on well to claim third but never looked like getting a cut in at the surprise winner.
