O'Brien not doubting Thomas

Aidan O’Brien hopes the favourable Longchamp weather forecast is accurate ahead of the Prix de l’Arc de Triomph on Sunday.

Aidan O’Brien hopes the favourable Longchamp weather forecast is accurate ahead of the Prix de l’Arc de Triomph on Sunday.

The Ballydoyle handler is likely to saddle Dylan Thomas and Soldier Of Fortune in the premier mile-and-a-half test, with the former a proven good-ground performer.

Although the official going on Monday was soft, the situation is expected to have improved by the weekend.

“If it’s good to soft on Sunday that will be good news as we are looking for nice racing ground for Dylan,” O’Brien told the Racing Post.

“I’m hoping to run him in the race but ideally we wouldn’t want any extreme in the ground.

“Kieren (Fallon) will ride Dylan Thomas and Johnny (Murtagh) will ride Soldier Of Fortune.”
