Elletelle bound for Newmarket
Elletelle is on course for a crack at the Cheveley Park Stakes on October 5 after delighting handler Ger Lyons on the gallops.
The speedy juvenile won the Queen Mary at Royal Ascot before finishing third in both the Cherry Hinton at Newmarket and Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh.
Lyons was delighted with Elletelle’s most recent effort behind Saoirse Abu and now has his fingers crossed the rains stay away from Headquarters.
He said: “We’ll pray that it stays fairly dry and there’s not much rain beforehand.
“But she did a fine bit of work this morning and we’re very very happy with her, so touch wood, we’re all systems go.
“She won her Group Two and we didn’t go for the Lowther at York as we chose to go for the Phoenix Stakes instead.
“It cut up with the soft ground and Johnny (Murtagh) was delighted with the filly. He thought she was going to win at one stage but the heavy ground just tapped her speed.
“It was always our intention to wind her season up with a crack at the Cheveley Park, but we were never going to overdo it this year because the plan is to go for the Guineas next season.”
Elletelle is currently as short as 16-1 with Bet Direct for the fillies’ Newmarket Classic in 2008.
