Mutawaajid heads back Down Under

Mutawaajid is to return to the care of Gai Waterhouse in Australia after his unsuccessful stint in Britain.

Trained by Mick Channon this summer, the speedy colt failed to hit the target in four starts but managed to grab a close fourth in the Sprint Cup at Haydock earlier in the month.

He is now likely to enjoy a short rest before being aimed at more classy events in Australia along with the Waterhouse-trained Bentley Biscuit, who also drew a blank in three European starts this summer.

“It was exciting news when (owner) His Excellency Nassar Lootah rang me yesterday to inform me that his horse would be returning to my care,” Waterhouse said.

“Bentley Biscuit will now have a travelling companion and they both will hopefully be back and racing for the autumn, given the carnival is most likely to be postponed in Sydney by a month,” she told www.gaiwaterhouse.com.
