Arc next for Youzain
Youmzain is to head for the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe without another outing following his placed effort in the Grosser Preis Von Baden.
In what proved a muddling race, the Mick Channon-trained colt – runner-up to Dylan Thomas in the King George previously – was unsuited by the stop-start gallop and had no cover when the field fanned out in the home straight.
He did his best work when all too late for Richard Hughes, finishing fourth to Quijano.
Channon said: “He had a nice solo stretch on the all-weather this morning and he’s in good order.
“For me he’ll be right at home in the Arc where you get a decent-sized field and they always go an English pace.”
