Nun better for Dunlop at Folkestone

There was not much wrong with Presbyterian Nun’s second to potential top-notcher Sense Of Joy last time and the effort proved enough for John Dunlop’s filly to open her account at Folkestone.

Although she was beaten just five lengths on that occasion at Newmarket, in the betting for the EBF Checkmate UK Supporting Demelza Maiden Fillies Stakes it was the Pattern-placed Lady Deauville who was all the rage.

The pair drew well clear of their rivals in the final couple of furlongs but it was Presbyterian Nun and Seb Sanders who held on by a neck having made all the running.

Dunlop’s assistant David Menuisier said: “We are really pleased as the form looked good with Sense Of Joy being a stakes winner last week.”
