Yarmouth abandoned

This evening’s meeting at Yarmouth has been abandoned due to waterlogging.

The track has been unable to deal with a huge amount of rainfall in the last 24 hours and failed a 12.30pm precautionary inspection.

“It’s still raining so it is with regret we’ve had to abandon,” said clerk of the course Charlie Moore.

“We’ve had a forecast for anything up to another half an inch of rain and that could be more if there is another thundery burst of heavy rain.”

“There is nothing to suggest the rain is going to stop and there is already standing water on one part of the track.”
