Folk bids to get back on the winning trail in the Alabama Stakes at Saratoga on Saturday.

Godolphin’s filly, winner of the UAE 1000 Guineas and Oaks, returned from a near four-month lay-off when third to Octave and Lear’s Princess in the American Oaks four weeks ago.

Folk faces both those rivals in a seven-strong field for the Grade One contest over 10 furlongs on dirt.

She will be ridden for the first time by Garrett Gomez.

Trainer Saeed bin Suroor said: “This is Folk’s second race of the summer in America.

“She came out of her last race well and she is in good form. There have been no problems with her and I’m happy with her preparation.

“”The Alabama Stakes is a Grade One race and it will be tough, but we are hoping to see a good run from her,“ he told www.godolphin.com.
