Gleam bypasses Hungerford date

Arabian Gleam has been ruled out of the CGA Hungerford Stakes at Newbury on Saturday after working unsatisfactorily.

Arabian Gleam has been ruled out of the CGA Hungerford Stakes at Newbury on Saturday after working unsatisfactorily.

The three-year-old, who was fifth to Tariq in the Betfair Cup on his last start, failed to please trainer Jeremy Noseda in his latest gallop.

Noseda said: “Arabian Gleam will not run in the Hungerford. He didn’t please me in his work this morning and we’ve decided to bypass the race.”

However, Noseda hopes to be represented by Golden Jubilee Stakes winner Soldier’s Tale as long as there is enough cut in the ground.

“Soldier’s Tale is still on course, subject to the ground being in his favour,” the trainer told www.jeremynoseda.com.
