Brittain mulling Moyglare bid

Clive Brittain is favouring a crack at the Moyglare Stud Stakes on September 2 with his impressive Sweet Solera winner Albabilia.

Brittain, who has handled such high-profile fillies as Pebbles, Sayyedati and Crimplene, is hoping the daughter of King’s Best can emulate that illustrious trio.

“She’s come out of the race very well and I’m very pleased with her,” said Brittain.

“I was a bit worried about the ground as it was drying out through the afternoon but she handled it OK in the end.

“I wouldn’t run her on rock hard ground again but there is no reason to now. We know she is a useful filly.

“As she has now won at Ascot and Newmarket, both the Fillies’ Mile and the Cheveley Park are possible for her. It wouldn’t matter about stepping her up to Group One rather than Group Two because there is not much in it anyway.

“I think the Moyglare would suit her at the Curragh – that could be her race.

“I think she could be an Oaks filly in time. The beauty of her is that she settles well and we’ve certainly got some big days to look forward to with her.”
