Turbo tackles Freer test

Turbo Linn will bid to extend her unbeaten run to nine in the Geoffrey Freer Stakes at Newbury next Saturday.

The four-year-old has enjoyed a meteoric rise through the ranks, winning a Carlisle bumper on her debut last October before switching codes to claim Group Two and Listed successes on the level.

Trainer Alan Swinbank has kept Turbo Linn to a mile and a half on her last three starts but could now let her tackle an extra furlong in Newbury’s Group Three contest.

“Turbo Linn will head to Newbury for the Geoffrey Freer next Saturday,” said Swinbank.

“She’s very well at the moment and she came back perfect after her last run at Newmarket.

“She’s a good mare but we are just hoping that the ground will not be too firm in Newbury next Saturday.

“Hopefully there will be no stopping her but we’ll have to wait and see.”
