Solera eight look to shine
Eight fillies will go to post for the skybet.com Sweet Solera Stakes at Newmarket on Saturday.
The Group Three contest, won by the likes of Soviet Song and Maids Causeway in recent years, has been a source of rich-pickings for Barry Hills, who has landed the race four times in the last six years.
This year Hills will rely on Kay Es Jay, although she will only run if the ground is suitable.
Two unbeaten fillies are in the line-up – Clive Cox’s Don’t Forget Faith and Brian Meehan’s Queen Scarlet, an impressive winner of a Newmarket maiden on her only start.
Clive Brittain’s Albabilia appears to be progressing nicely and bids to continue on an upward curve along with the James Fanshawe-trained Gone Fast.
The field is completed Jeremy Noseda’s Baffled, Kylayne and Sweepstake.
