Fabre unmoved by Marois trip

Andre Fabre is unfazed by the prospect of dropping Manduro back down to a mile for the Prix du Haras de Fresnay-le-Buffard-Jacques le Marois on Sunday.

Having overwhelmed Dylan Thomas and Notnowcato in the 10-furlong Prince of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot, the Deauville Group One represents a distance he has not won at since joining Fabre.

The French handler told the Racing Post: “Manduro was very unlucky in his three runs over a mile for us last year – nothing went right for him on those occasions.

“With a little more luck he would have won. He was the speed to win at a mile.”
