Hills thrilled with Newcomer
Tajdeef looked a colt with Group potential when spread-eagling his rivals in the first division of the six-furlong Home-Start West Berkshire European Breeders' Fund Maiden Stakes at Newbury today.
The son of Aljabr cruised into the lead approaching the final furlong and under Richard Hills stormed five lengths clear of Redsensor.
The well-backed 11-8 favourite was given a 33-1 quote for the 2000 guineas by William Hill and is 25-1 with the Classic sponsors Stan James.
Barry Hills has a high opinion of Tajdeef and said: "He's certainly above average. He's done everything right at home and has a nice temperament.
"I think we'll go seven furlongs with him next time."
