Forthright tastes victory in Guinness Handicap

Forthright has just held the late charge of High Reef to win the feature Guinness Handicap.

Mark Loughnane’s charge was sent off a 15-2 chance and Seamus Heffernan made an early move on the six-year-old, taking it up before turning into the straight.

High Reef was just getting into top gear though and Heffernan had to be at his strongest aboard the winner.

Forthright just prevailed by a short head with Consulate, the mount of Kieren Fallon, charging down the outside to take third ahead of Tango Foxtrot.
