Rekaab shine for Brassil
Rekaab demonstrated a fine turn of foot to claim the St James’s Gate Race at Galway.
The four-year-old, trained by Grand National-winning handler Martin Brassil and ridden by Kevin Manning, was sent off a 100-30 chance and began to make good progress turning into the straight.
British raider Glitter Baby made a bold bid for victory but she was quickly swallowed up by the winner and 7-4 favourite King In Waiting as they settled down to battle it out.
However, Manning still had a little up his sleeve and Rekaab stretched out to record a three-length verdict over King In Waiting.
