Harland waiting for ground
Progressive three-year-old Harland is to enjoy a mid-season break before returning to the fray later in the campaign.
The Michael Jarvis-trained son of Halling recently built on a promising Sandown Listed win by gaining a narrow success over fellow British raider Regime in the Prix Eugene Adam in France.
While no firm plans have been made regarding a potential next port of call, Harland is likely to wait for his preferred softer ground.
Jarvis said: “He came back a little bit stiff through his shoulders and we intend to give him a bit of a break and bring him back in the autumn.
“There are no real targets at the moment but he’s basically a soft ground horse and he only just got away with it at Maisons-Laffitte.
“He did well to win as it was a little drier than we’d hoped it would be and a bit quicker than he prefers, so he’s done us well.
“We’ll just give him a little break now and then hopefully find a nice little option or two for him in the autumn.”
