Tariq in search of Goodwood glory

Jersey Stakes winner Tariq will bid to make it a hat-trick of wins in Tuesday’s Betfair Cup at Goodwood.

The Group Two contest, registered as the Lennox Stakes, is the feature event on the opening day of the ’Glorious’ meeting and Peter Chapple-Hyam’s charge will be aiming to supplement his Royal Ascot and Newmarket successes in the seven-furlong heat.

Tariq will clash again with Jersey third Arabian Gleam and eighth Thousand Words, who will represent Jeremy Noseda and Barry Hills respectively.

Royal Hunt Cup winner Royal Oath has another crack at Pattern company after narrowly failing to lift the Summer Mile at Ascot last time and he is joined by Mark Johnston’s Easter Stakes victor Dubai’s Touch.

Dark Islander, Dunelight, Levera, Misu Bond and Irish raider Finicus complete the 13-strong field.
