York have outlined extra measures for tomorrow’s meeting following some issues with facilities earlier in the month.

Traffic problems caused by illegal parking on John Smith’s Cup day meant that some racegoers missed the start of the action, while one floor of the Ebor Stand was closed following a fire.

That area is still out of action, and York’s head of marketing and sponsorship James Brennan said: “We will have five out of the six floors in the Ebor Stand in use again and the toilets are back in action.

“We also have the Park Pavilion, which is there to balance out the absence of the fifth floor.

“We have additional hard-standing parking available for cars and coaches tomorrow following on from John Smith’s day.

“We are all systems go for racing tomorrow and although the ground is heavy, we are looking forward to a good day’s racing.”
