Salisbury abandoned

Salisbury have abandoned this afternoon’s meeting due to waterlogged patches on the track.

The Wiltshire, England track failed a 7am inspection as three millimetres of overnight rain compounded an acute area of the course which had been worst affected by the recent bad weather.

Clerk of the course Jeremy Martin said: “There’s a patch of ground at the one-and-half-furlong marker in the middle of the course which has not improved - we covered it over but have decided not risk it.

“We’ve also had this extra rain from 7pm to 10pm last night so sadly, we’ve had to abandon.”
