Porto Marmay revelled in a drop to the minimum trip to land the Danehill Dancer Tipperary Stakes at Tipperary.

Sixth over seven furlongs at Leopardstown earlier in the week, she showed her toughness to bounce back and take this Listed contest in style.

The juvenile filly, trained by Ken Condon, was always in the front rank before taking a definite lead a furlong out.

The 5-2 shot was driven out by Declan McDonogh to come home three and a half lengths clear of Shivering, with Rose Rouge third.

McDonogh said: “She’s a tough, genuine filly and loved the heavy ground.”

The filly is owned by the Symposium Racing Syndicate and one of their members, Brian Bunyan, said: “The drop back to five furlongs was the key. She ran over seven at Leopardstown and didn’t stay the trip.”
