Bradburne injury blow

Mark Bradburne has broken two bones in his back after falling at Uttoxeter on Tuesday evening.

The rider parted company with Danbury at the seventh fence in the Diabetes Uk Novices’ Handicap Chase and was taken by air ambulance to North Staffordshire Hospital.

Bradburne must now undergo a scan to enable the medics to diagnose the full extent of the injury.

His wife, Gee Bradburne, said: “The situation is he has broken his T6 and T7 vertebrae.

“We don’t know at this stage the extent of the damage until he has had a CT scan, and he is waiting for that at the moment.

“Until he has that we won’t know whether he will need stabilisation or whether he is stable enough as he is.

“The great thing is he is able to move all his limbs which is the main thing in the long term.”
