Muir snaps up Fallon for Robert
William Muir has booked Kieren Fallon to ride Big Robert in the Prix Pelleas at Chantilly on Saturday.
The Hungerford-based handler was quick to snap up the six-times British champion jockey.
Fallon will be in action at the French track for his boss, Irish trainer Aidan O’Brien, in the Group One Prix Jean Prat.
“I’ve got Kieren Fallon booked. I could have had anybody, but at least I can speak the same language!” said Muir.
“He’s as good as they come. Obviously Martin (Dwyer) could have ridden him but he’s retained by his boss (Sheikh Hamdan Al Maktoum) at Brighton.
“Martin said your best man would be Kieren, so go for him.”
Muir believes his horse is the one to beat in the Listed contest over 10 furlongs.
“If the ground is right I think he’ll win, but I would nor rule Andre Fabre’s horse out. He’s the master,” Muir continued.
“Our horse is the pick on known form and has really come good in himself.
“The horse is ready to go. He wants proper racing ground and they are set to have three nice days and that track does dry very well.”
