Catterick gets go-ahead

Racing at Catterick will go ahead as planned this afternoon after the course experienced a dry night.

Officials at the North Yorkshire venue were scheduled to hold an early inspection to assess the state of the turf following recent spells of significant rainfall.

However, clerk of the course Jonjo Sanderson scrapped those plans following a kinder spell of weather.

He said: “Following a dry night, the inspection planned for 7.30am to assess track conditions for today’s meeting has been discarded, and the meeting goes ahead as normal.”

The seven-race card begins at 2.35pm with division one of the European Breeders’ Fund Zetland Median Auction Maiden Stakes.
