Ghetto gains the day
Richard Hannon moved swiftly away from the 50-mark for the season as Ghetto showed more than enough spirit to take the Fairstead Homes Maiden Stakes at Newmarket.
Regarded as a decent prospect for next year, the 100-30 joint-favourite had clearly progressed from his debut fourth at Newbury and dug deep for Richard Hughes in the soft ground to pass Albaqaa in the closing stages, going away by three-quarters of a length.
