Mceldowney and Dr Sharp will get a run in tomorrow’s John Smith’s Northumberland Plate after two runners were withdrawn.

The pair, trained by Mark Johnston and Tom Tate respectively, were declared as reserves for the two-mile feature, which has a safety limit of 20 runners.

However, Michael Stoute’s Ogee and the Stuart Williams-trained Rationale were taken out on Friday on account of the soft ground, allowing the two substitutes into the race.
