Green light for Rasen

Friday’s meeting at Market Rasen has passed an inspection and is set to go ahead as scheduled.

Officials at the Lincolnshire venue assessed conditions at 1pm and found there had been significant improvement in the last 24 hours.

There is still one waterlogged patch on the track but as long as there is no more substantial rain, clerk of the course Nick Patton is confident the meeting will take place.

“The official going is soft, heavy and waterlogged in patches,” said Patton.

“We’ve seen a huge improvement since calling the inspection.

“We do not intend to stage a further inspection unless there is a lot more rain.”
