A crack at the Ladbrokes St Leger is firmly on the agenda for Boscobel after Joe Fanning produced a copybook front-running ride to get him home in front in the King Edward VII Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Connections had mooted a plan to steal the £200,000 ’Ascot Derby’, with Fanning set the task of catching his fellow jockeys napping from the head of affairs.
