Worcester hold inspection

Worcester will stage a precautionary inspection at 8.30am ahead of this afternoon’s meeting.

Clerk of the course Fergus Cameron is concerned by the rising level of the River Severn following overnight rain.

He said: “We will have a look as the River Severn is currently rising very quickly and there is a flood alert in place.

“We had a drying day yesterday for the ground and then we had 12 millimetres of rain overnight so I have left it unchanged as soft, heavy in places.

“It’s just a matter of timing with the river really.”
