Orientalist Art on course for Coventry

Peter Chapple-Hyam anticipates saddling Orientalist Art in the Coventry Stakes next week.

Peter Chapple-Hyam anticipates saddling Orientalist Art in the Coventry Stakes next week.

The Newmarket trainer boasts an enviable strike-rate with his juveniles this season and is likely to rely on the Green Desert colt in Royal Ascot's curtain raiser.

Chapple-Hyam also has Declaration Of War and Winker Watson in the Group Two event, but they are far from certain to join their stablemate.

"I'm not sure what I'm doing but Orientalist Art will probably be my only runner," he said.

"I will wait and see what the entries for the Norfolk Stakes are like but Winker Watson will probably go there," he told the Racing Post newspaper.

"Declaration Of War is only likely to run if something goes wrong with Orientalist Art.

"Orientalist Art is pretty good but he has ground to make up with the Paul Cole horse Luck Money. The royal meeting gets harder every year but I am very happy with the horse."

Also among the 37-strong entry at the six-day stage were Aidan O'Brien's Henrythenavigator and the Tracey Collins-trained Pencil Hill, who have both been confirmed as probable runners.
