Moore enjoys Brighton boost

Champion jockey Ryan Moore was back in the winner’s enclosure at Brighton on just his second ride after returning from injury.

Champion jockey Ryan Moore was back in the winner’s enclosure at Brighton on just his second ride after returning from injury.

Moore had been sidelined since March by a broken arm before making a surprise return at Sandown on Thursday evening.

Although he was out of luck on that occasion, Moore was soon back on the winning track as the Richard Hannon-trained Elna Bright swooped late in the Toteplacepot Median Auction Maiden Stakes.

Despite appearing to have a mountain to climb in the final furlong, Moore conjured a telling run from the 2-1 chance to collar long-time leader Sinead Of Aglish and notch a half-length success.
