Carey wins Polish speed class

Captain Shane Carey won yesterday's speed class with Cashla Bay at the four-star show in Poznan, Poland yesterday afternoon, while team-mate Cian O'Connor slotted Markopoulo into second, almost three seconds behind Carey.

Captain Shane Carey won yesterday's speed class with Cashla Bay at the four-star show in Poznan, Poland yesterday afternoon, while team-mate Cian O'Connor slotted Markopoulo into second, almost three seconds behind Carey.

This morning O'Connor stayed in the prize money with a sixth place in the young horse class on his bay mare Conahy Clover.

Later today, O'Connor and Carey will join the other two Irish squad members - Comdt. Gerry Flynn and Ryan Crumley - in the Polish Nations' Cup competition, due to start at 3pm Irish time.
